Todo Kai hosted the 3rd Annual Parksville Gasshuku on August 21 – 22, 2004.
Information:
This years event was similar to last year’s; bringing a tent and sleeping bag, set up in Peter Sensei’s yard for sleep over and practice.This year a first aid learning session was arranged specifically for Iaido practitioners (see below).

Our first aid instructor was Jeannine Caldbeck. Jeannine has practiced Iaido since the early 1980s and is aware of the sort of potential injuries and safety concerns that may be encountered in the dojo. Jeannine is also highly qualified as a first aid instructor. She holds certification as a Fire Service First Responder Level III with Spinal & AED Endorsements, Emergency Scene Management, Occupational First Aid Level III, Local Emergency Response Neighbourhood (LERN) First Aid, and Occupational Safety & Health 3. She is also a Fire Service Training Officer, a Fire Service First Responder Instructor, a CPR – C Instructor, is and a Sessional Instructor for the Justice Institute of the BC Paramedic Academy – Primary Care Paramedic Program (PCP). She is employed by the BC Ambulance Service as a Paramedic 1, and is the acting fire chief on Thetis Island.
