Fini – CIA 15th Annual Seminar Van. 2008

The 15th Annual CIA Summer Iaido Seminar was an exciting, pivotal and a very successful seminar for the future of Iaido in Canada. We are deeply grateful to Esaka Sensei, 10 Dan, Hanshi, Kato Sensei, 10th Dan, Hanshi, and Kaneda Sensei, Kyoshi for coming back to Vancouver.

We thank everyone who came to support us, and all the participants who made this the best attended seminar to date. Special thanks go to the CIA directors and to President Dr. Denton Hewgill who received new authority to issue CIA Dan certificates as specified by Ikeda Soke, President of the ZNIR. We are deeply honoured that Esaka Sensei, 10 Dan, Hanshi, and Kato Sensei, 10th Dan, Hanshi, representing the ZNIR, forged a new link between the CIA and the ZNIR.

We also thank Sensei Andrej Diamantstein and Sensei Tom Helm from San Francisco and Sensei Wout Verscheuren from Belgium for their long and continued support of us!

This seminar is dedicated to our late mentor and founder Dr. Ted Davis. Very special thanks go to Colleen Kasting for attending and providing a wonderful memorial of Ted!
