2023 Canadian Iaido Association Seminar

We are pleased to announce, after a long hiatus, the 27th ZNIR/CIA Iaido Seminar will be held in Victoria, BC, from November 17 to 19, 2023, at the Lochside School in Victoria British Columbia.

Visiting ZNIR Instructors:

This year, we again have the spectacularly good fortune of high ranking and well known Sensei visiting from Japan.

Tanida Hiroshi Sensei, 10th Dan Hanshi, ZNIR President of the Kantō region.
Itoh Takeji Sensei, 7th Dan, ZNIR Overseas Auditor of the Kantō region.

These times might change during the seminar, but will be posted on the door to the entrance.

We would like to have as many people attend, if you need assistance with the fees, please contact us.

Accommodations:

If you need help finding accommodations, please let us know, the weekend of November 19th isn’t anything special as far as we know, so there should be openings at most hotels. Staying closer to Lochside School would probably be the easiest, the locations you should look for are Elk Lake, Royal Oak, Colquitz, and further out is Oak Bay. Public transportation to the Lochside school will likely be difficult. If you are having difficulty finding accommodations, please contact us.

There are also many AirBNBs in the area, look in the “Royal Oak”, “Cordova Bay” and “Colquitz” area for Victoria BC.

Other visiting Iaidoka have also recommended some hotels downtown

As a reminder, please note that each person is responsible for his or her own safety at the seminar, but we would ask that you pay attention to your surroundings and practice safe dojo etiquette.
