Craig Murray-Hill, Manager of Finances
Craig Murray-Hill Sensei, ZNIR 3rd Dan, has been practicing Iaido at Shoshinkai Victoria under the tutelage of Denton Hewgill Sensei, Takeji Itoh Sensei, Chris Tooley Sensei, Eric Dunning Sensei, and Mark McAllister Sensei.
In his professional life; Craig Sensei is a Senior Consultant in the Information Technology industry; currently specializing in Technical Project Management and Operational IT Service Management. He is certified as a Project Management Professional, Scrum Master, ITIL practitioner, and Software Development instructor. Craig Sensei has taught Project Management and Software Development courses for the University of Victoria and private industry. In 1994, he graduated from the University of Victoria with a B.Sc. in Biology; focusing on marine sciences and neurophysiology prior to embarking on his IT career. In his spare time, when not studying martial arts, he is an amateur woodworker/carpenter with a keen interest in design for problem solving and usability.
Craig Sensei was interested in Martial Arts from an early age and crafted a Shinken in high school under the tutelage of his shop teacher. Craig Sensei’s formal Martial Arts study began with Shotokan Karate at the University of Victoria; unfortunately, a severe injury cut short further training. To heal, he began study of Tai Chi Chaun and still maintains a self-practice based on the Beijing Yang 24-step short form learned from instructor Ashley Xu. Craig Sensei is also an Aikidoka and continues to study Aikikai Aikido under the tutelage of Rafael Oei Sensei.
Craig Murray-Hill Sensei was named Manager of Finances for the Canadian Iaido Association on November 3rd, 2024.
